This uplifting project is the product of an intriguing collaboration between two gifted musical talents, each with eclectic backgrounds and influences, and a wide range of instrumental skills---think swirling synths, a plaintive Indian esraj, a 12-string mandriola and even an Auracle handpan.

Jim Gelcer is a Canadian-based/South African-born recording artist known for his jazz stylings and bhakti-inspired performances. David “Vito” Gregoli is a U.S.-based multi-instrumentalist/producer with a reputation for melding exotic World flavors with unexpected genres. Together they’ve concocted an imaginative blend of atmospheric elements and Neo-classical textures create an ethereal and hypnotic soundscape that is sure to captivate Ambient and New Age music enthusiasts.

“I met Vito in 2010 at BhaktiFest” says Gelcer, “and we discovered a shared interest Indian spiritual music.” The two also share a deeply philosophical connection and kept in touch over the years, exchanging viewpoints along with their musical ideas. Eventually, the concept for Quiet Expanse came together. Working remotely, they realized their vision of collaborating on a piece that seeks to raise the vibration of the planet, and their audience.

Accordingly, they’ve set a specific intention with each piece, choosing one-word titles that define their theme and message for the listener: “Flow,” “Forgiveness,” “Authenticity” and “Resilience,” for example. “Jim and I believe in the healing power of music,” says Gregoli, “and together we’ve set out to create a serene experience that elevates both consciousness and spirit.” Based on the early reviews, they’ve definitely succeeded. As New Age Notes observed, “The beauty of collaborations with two strong creatives is that they become greater than the sum of their parts, and something unique that neither would've done on their own is birthed.”
